CONTEMPORARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY FOR YOUR LIFETIME OF MEMORIES

Russell Caron, Wedding Photographer / Studio Owner

Russell Caron became infatuated with photography just after high school in the mid-1970's.  He first learned photography with using manual focus and manual exposure 35mm SLR film cameras.  Then, he learned black and white and color darkroom techniques, shot lots of portraits, landscapes and scenics.  Like many of today's top wedding photographers, it was friends that convinced him to try shooting a wedding (theirs).  That was back in 1977.   Hundreds of thousands of exposures later, and into present time, digital photography (using his wide array of state-of-the art Canon digital SLRs and pro lenses) is "totally what photography is all about" for Russ.  Russ studied photography at the Maine Photographic Workshops, mentored with several of the best wedding photographers in the world, and on his own via constant immersion in the world of wedding photography.  Along with assistant Angi and associate photographer Bob, wedding photography is absolutely their #1 passion, which their customers constantly say shows in their work.  Russ' friendly attitude and approach is another reason for their success.  Russ is the volunteer photographer for Morrison Developmental Center in Portland, Maine, where he enjoys photographing the wonderful people and staff for their many events.   Russell Caron Photography also donates a percentage of sales each year to non-profit charities in the Greater Portland, Maine area.  Russ is married to Mary Beth, his wife since 1982, and has three grown children by birth, and four more adopted children, (three from India and one from the southern part of the U.S.).  Oh, and one adorable new baby grand-daughter.

Angimarie Manter, Second Photographer / Assistant Photographer

Angi is described by Russ as the "perfect assistant photographer": always knowing what to do, where to be, and what to shoot, and how to shoot it, largely without verbal direction.  Angi has worked with Russ for several years, and brings with her a long-standing interest and talent in photography and arts.  They enjoy working with each other and Angi brings with her the same passion for wedding photography as Russ. At a wedding, while Russ may be locked attention to the bride, Angi is ever-watchful for alternate views to the scene, and keeps a good eye on the groom and families, often from unique vantage points.  Russ notes that one of her many strong suits is getting great pre-wedding shots of the groom and his men, often having a good time "horsing around," as guys often do.  Brides tell us how they like seeing what the groom and the guys were doing before the wedding while they were preparing with great detail at their location.  Russ and Angi carefully synchronize the internal time clocks in their several Canon camera bodies, so when the images are viewing as a slide show later on, those moments fall into place precisely in the right order.  Just one small added benefit of the many to having a clever and artistic second/assistant photographer working at your wedding.  Angi attends most weddings with Russ, and spends the core hours of the day with him, usually beginning when the guys are finishing getting ready, and usually staying through the beginning of the reception.  She provides a great eye, too, setting up groups for their formal photos, and also really enjoys photographing the children a wedding often includes.

Angi lives in the capitol region of central Maine with her husband Lewie and her two very athletic young boys.  You will love having her be a part of your wedding day, too.
